The customer
The Norwegian Sea Rescue Society, is a nationwide humanitarian association whose purpose is to save lives, salvage assets and protect the coastal environment of Norwegian waters, as well as undertaking outreach and accident prevention initiatives to improve the safety of those at sea in Norway and abroad.
The brief
The Norwegian Sea Rescue needed radio systems for internal safety communication in full duplex for the rescue workers and the pilot on the vessels. It was important to find the best solution with both a reliable system working under all conditions, and make sure that all employees’ safety was secured.
The deployed solution
The Norwegian Sea Rescue Society implemented the use of VOKKERO GUARDIAN PLUS on all its 53 vessels after thoroughly testing various products from different manufacturers over a 2-year period.
The result
Coverage range
The VOKKERO GUARDIAN PLUS system had the highest score on all criteria and especially on the coverage range.
Harsh environements and stressing rescue situations
The combination of VOKKERO and the 3M Peltor ComTac headset gave a complete solution for use in harsh environments and under stressing rescue situations at sea.
Water ingress (IP67)
The Norwegian Sea Rescue Society needed a version which had greater protection against water ingress (IP67). This request is solved today by using the Aquapack waterproof solution along with various clickfast fastening devices.
“The Norwegian Sea Rescue Society is very pleased with VOGO, and its VOKKERO audio systems will also be installed on the new vessels being built in near future”.
